Emir Kusturica has added yet another project to his upcoming slate with the $35 million dollar drama “Tweakers Delight.”
The film, which has yet to be cast, will follow the story of a man who has 24 hours to straighten out his life or lose custody of his son. No further details are unveiled about the project — which has been greenlit by production company Filmula — however filming is scheduled to begin after the completion of Kusturica’s Pancho Villa biopic, “Wild Roses, Tender Roses,” which will star Johnny Depp and Salma Hayek in a Spanish-language production.
Before that starts next February though, Kusturica still has the dramedy “Cool Water” set to go in front of cameras later this year. The project has “A Prophet” lead Tahar Rahim attached to star in the story of two Palestinian brothers who try to smuggle the body of their recently deceased father from Jerusalem to Ramallah while trying to avoid Israeli police and Russian mobsters.
The trio of films will mark a quick and fruitful return for Kusturica who last efforts include 2008’s “Maradona” documentary and 2007’s “Promise Me This,” both of which premiered at Cannes.
