After years of debate and discussion, the definitive answer to the question, “What happened to Jesse Pinkman at the end of “Breaking Bad?” will be answered. Netflix is on the verge of releasing the new sequel film, “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie,” and in a new video, the stars of the project, as well as writer-director Vince Gilligan explain why this is a crucial story to tell.
Considering ‘El Camino’ is just hours from release, Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes featurette showing the making of the film, as well as those involved giving fans the reasons why Jesse’s story had to be told.
As a producer on the film said, the “Breaking Bad” finale seemed to be a fitting conclusion to the Walter White saga, but Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul, didn’t necessarily get the resolution that fans were hoping for. The ambiguous end given to his character, with Jesse driving off victorious, after narrowly escaping the neo-Nazis that imprisoned him, left a lot to the fans to interpret. Did Jesse get arrested immediately? Was he able to make it to Mexico and begin a new life? Well, if the early footage from ‘El Camino’ is any indication, we’re thinking that a happy ending isn’t in the cards.

“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” arrives in select theaters and on Netflix on October 11.
