Edgar Wright, currently shooting “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” in Toronto, will not be directing a third installment of the “Tintin” film because “Tintin” — directed by Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg — is only two films, right?
/Film basically alerts everyone to a small rumor that they debunk in almost the same breath by talking to Wright who says, “no… but rumors are fun.”
But they are on to something. In the original press release there was mention of a potential third film. “The second feature in the series is scheduled to be directed by Jackson, with a potential for a third film as well,” it read. But according to Wright, it’s not him. The reality is it’s probably way too early to tell if a third film is on the way. He’s surely too busy at the moment to be writing it, that’s a certainty.
“The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn” is a 2011 film directed by Spielberg. Jackson will helm the second version (for 2012?) Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish rewrote the script and the film also stars Jamie Bell as Tintin, plus Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Toby Jones, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost. It will probably be motion-capturific.
Didn’t Kathleen Kennedy already say that the third movie will be directed by Steven Spielberg or Peter Jackson ?http://tintinmovie.org/2008/12/14/tintin-movies-are-go/
