Dwayne Johnson, it seems, cannot be contained by two dimensions alone. Variety is reporting that Johnson is returning to the 3D world with the earthquake movie “San Andreas” and reuniting with his “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”—also in 3D!—director Brad Peyton for the 3D earthquake movie, “San Andreas.” Or is it called “San Andreas 3D?” While Allan Loeb and Carlton Cuse both penned earlier drafts, the film will go into production with a script from “The Conjuring” duo Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes. The film will focus on Johnson as an estranged father trying to rescue his daughter after a massive quake at the titular fault.

Deadline reports Kate Beckinsale has joined the prolific Michael Winterbottom’s Amanda Knox movie, “The Face of an Angel.” She joins the already-cast Daniel Brühl as a newspaper reporter opposite his documentary-filmmaker. The film is said to be a fictionalized adaptation of Barbie Latza Nadeau’s non-fiction book “Angel Face: Sex, Murder and the Inside Story of Amanda Knox.” Given Winterbottom’s prolific output, the film will probably done by the end of this sentence.

Once one of the leading men of the indie movement of the ’90s, John Corbett now finds himself with a role in the Jennifer Lopez vehicle, “The Boy Next Door.” Deadline reports Corbett will play Lopez’s ex-husband in the Rob Cohen-helmed film which follows Lopez as a divorced woman who has an affair with a teenager in the neighborhood. Hot.

Ned Stark’s oldest daughter is heading to the big screen. Deadline reports Sophie Turner—a.k.a. Sansa Stark—will join the Hailee Steinfeld-starring teenage-assassin comedy, “Barely Lethal.” Turner plays “an undercover agent who enrolls in high school to help capture” Steinfeld’s incognito assassin. Samuel L. Jackson and Jessica Alba co-star.

THR reports that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s “This Is The End” follow-up has nabbed Timothy Simons (“Veep”) and Randall Park (“The Five-Year Engagement”). “The Interview” will star James Franco as a talk show host with Rogen as his producer. Park plays the North Korean Prime Minister targeted for an assassination with Simons playing the director of the talk show.

Buried in a piece in the Daily Mail is the news that “Stardust” actor Charlie Cox has joined the Stephen Hawking biopic “The Theory Of Everything.” Eddie Redmayne portrays the iconic physicist with Felicity Jones playing his first wife while Cox plays Jones’ second husband. Filming is scheduled to begin soon.
