Got a Tip?

Duncan Jones’ ‘Source Code’ Set For April 15, 2011 Release Date, ‘Three Muskateers’ Retreats For The Fall Of Next Year

While slightly overrated, if only because the whiny and vociferous geek set are always clamoring about a film that doesn’t see wide release only when its of genre convenience to them (what about all the other tens of hundreds of worthwhile films in limited release, huh?), Duncan Jones’ “Moon” starring Sam Rockwell was an excellent debut feature-length effort and he’s definitely become a filmmaker to watch after only one film.

Next up for him is “Source Code,” a sci-fi thriller starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan, Jeffrey Wright and comedian Russell Peters (we all just got a first look at it last week).

The film has already received a March 11, 2011 U.K. release date, and now according to Box Office Mojo, the film has been given an April 15, 2011 release in the U.S.

Not a tentpole date, but one that suggests the thinking-man’s sci-fi film which is completely fine with us. In related release date news, Paul W.S. Anderson’s “The Three Musketeers” (starring a ridiculous looking Mads Mikkelsen, plus Milla Jovovich, Logan Lerman, Orlando Bloom and Christoph Waltz to name a few) has changed its release date, significantly moving from the same April 15, 2011 date into the fall on October 14, 2011. Known for the godawful “Resident Evil” films (and dreck like, “Death Race,” “AVP: Alien vs. Predator,” “Mortal Kombat”), in our minds Anderson’s never made a worthwhile picture, but with a cast like this one… any thing’s possible? And or we’ll see our first embarrassing screen moment for Christoph Waltz. That is, unless Michel Gondry’s “The Green Hornet” doesn’t beat him to it and that looks very possible.
