‘Stranger Things’ Season 4: Watch First 8-Minutes Of Episode 1 & Duffer Brothers Are Upset Over A ‘Monopoly’ Leak

Later this month will finally see the return of Netflix‘s hit genre-hodgepodge YA/sci-fi series “Stranger Things.” The kids are again faced with another threat from the Upside Down; the interdimensional space that is home to all sorts of nasty creatures looking to cause havoc on the sleepy town of Hawkings.

The streaming service has released the first eight minutes of the first episode from season four (see below), a group of episodes that reportedly have cost them $30 million a pop.

Here is the synopsis for the upcoming season courtesy of Netflix:

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

In an interesting twist, the show’s creators The Duffer Brothers have confirmed to Collider in a recent interview that episodes seven and nine are apparently full-blown movie length. This likely will be a welcomed announcement for fans craving more content as the show is winding down and ending with season five.

“Episode seven and nine are very, very long episodes,” Ross Duffer confirmed, to which Matt Duffer added, “Oh, yeah. Those are full-blown movies.” 

THR also highlighted that the Duffer Brothers’ frustration and anger towards a Monopoly-branded board game tie-in to the new season has leaked spoilers for the new episodes, as they expect to be a Netflix is switching things up with season four as Volume 1 which consists of the first seven episodes drops on May 27 and Volume 2, with the final two episodes, will be released on July 1.
