There's no arguing that one of the most talked about films so far this year is Nicolas Winding Refn's lean and mean thriller "Drive." And while Refn took home directing honors from Cannes, and Ryan Gosling earned plaudits for his efficiently cool lead performance, one of the most discussed aspects of the film has been the neon sign soundtrack.
Improbably, yet somehow perfectly and seamlessly, in addition to Cliff Martinez's score, it was the pulse of the electronic tunes that wormed their way into the skulls of those who have seen the film already. Well, get ready to rock this on your iPod. The film will be getting a proper soundtrack release and in addition to the pieces by Martinez will be "Night Call" by Kavinsky, "Under Your Spell" by Desire and the epic "Tick Of The Clock" by former punk rockers turned Ital disco heads Chromatics highlighting the disc.
"Drive" will hit theaters on September 16th, but you can pick up the soundtrack digitally on September 6th or if you absolutely need that awesome cover art in your possession, it will get a physical release on September 13th. Check out the full tracklist and some samples of the tunes below.

Can anyone help by telling me the title of the instrumental track played in the elevator scene of Drive (where Ryan Gosling kills a gangster by stamping on his head)? Its not on the soundtrack released for the Drive movie, sounds a bit like ‘I Drive’ (Martinez), but is an older piece, possibly from a Lynch movie (Badalamenti?).
I am in love with this soundtrack.. especially Nightcall, simply amazing…
mesmerising film
and the soundtrack is quite superb
Hand Covers Bruise from The Social Network score was in the movie as well.
Kept thinking M83 was in it.
I haven\’t been this shook up and engaged by a soundtrack since the masterpiece of \’Hanna\’ – totally submersive, just perfect.
Really one of the best made movies I\’ve seen in years, too – the color palette, the sound production, the performances; not what I expected. Totally worth it.
Just saw the movie. Was pretty lukewarm about it, but the soundtrack was Vangelis-loving goodness.
The coolest soundtrack of the year for the coolest film of the year is now #2 on iTunes! Help it get to #1 by downloading the DRIVE SOUNDRACK from Lakeshore Records now, feat music by Cliff Martinez and songs from the movie by Kavinsky & Lovefoxxx, College, Chromatics and more: http://bit.ly/DriveSoundtrack
i saw this at Comic Con, and it was hands down the best video shown there. It was also hands down the Best movie i have seen so far this year.
Wow, just heard the newest song from M83 called \”Midnight City\” and it would\’ve been perfect for this movie. It has a fun, pulpy 80\’s sound and the lyrics are about waiting in a car after dark. How perfect. Almost sad it\’s not in the soundtrack.

On another note, I can not wait for this to come out! this is seriously the movie of my dreams.
@Ferencv
I haven\’t seen the film, but i\’m pretty sure it\’s the first song off the soundtrack to the 1971 Italian film \”Addio zio Tom\” (\”Goodbye Uncle Tom\”).
Here\’s an Itunes link. Sure sounds like something that Refn would use, but since i haven\’t seen, i can\’t be sure. I hope so though because the tune is gorgeous.

Can anyone find this?
Oh My Love – Riziero Ortolani & Rina Ranieri
I\’ve been searching for like twenty minutes and nothing. Thanks!
Here\’s the YouTube video for College\’s \”A Real Hero\” – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DSVDcw6iW8
I really hope the official poster is the same as the ost cover. It\’s awesome!
wow, I think you\’ve hit your record for number of Refn/Gosling related posts in a day!
