HBO is not going to let their rivals at Showtime, currently basking in the well-received return of “Twin Peaks,” dominate the news cycle. It’s likely no coincidence that the network decided to release some new photos for “Game Of Thrones” season 7 today, even if they’re mostly behind-the-scenes shots.
The one that is likely to get everyone, ahem, cookin’, is of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), and her fiery new friend. “The dragons this year are the size of 747s,” director Matt Shakman enthused to EW. “Drogon is the biggest of the bunch — his flame is 30-feet in diameter!” I don’t even watch the show, but if you tell me something has giant dragons in it, I’d probably be there (and yes, I’ll get to ‘GoT’ at some point).
“Game of Thrones” season 7 arrives on July 16th.
