Got a Tip?

Don’t Worry, They Won’t Milk ‘Wall-E’ For Years To Come

“Wall-E” made tons of money, right? Sure, it did fifth highest grossing film in 2008, raking in $223 million in the U.S. and taking in another $309 million internationally. And plus there’s DVD too. Pixar would probably love a sequel ala the “Toy Story” series, right?

Fans would surely love it too. But “Wall-E” writer/director Andrew Stanton says nothing doing.

“Personally, I never consider sequels,” he told MTV News. “I think that takes a lot of hubris to think that your idea is going to live on and on, and I always love the idea of something just being contained and done.”

Asked if he had any ideas in mind Stanton in full shut down mode said, no. “Not for me, no. We work on these things for so long that we have a hard time simply thinking that the [first] film is ever going to be done. I’m not against sequels, and I’ve certainly experienced personally and seen secondhand great sequels, but I don’t go in with that intent.”

Meanwhile, David Fincher, cinematographer Harris Savides and Stanton are all bff. Who knew?
