‘Don’t Make Me Go’ Exclusive Clip: John Cho Shines In Hannah Marks’ New Film

It is often difficult for movie audiences to imagine certain actors outside of certain roles they’ve played, especially if that role was a comedy role or a franchise role. John Cho, however, is one of the actors who, while in both comedies (‘Harold and Kumar‘) and franchises (‘Star Trek‘), can do just about anything, and audiences don’t say, “Why is he in this, he should stick to that?” From voiceover to television to film, Cho is a true talent. This is evident in everything he does but is most recently showcased in Hannah Marks‘ “Don’t Make Me Go.”

Described as “a wholly original and emotional journey, ‘Don’t Make Me Go’ explores the unbreakable, eternal bond between a father and daughter from both sides of the generational divide with heart and humor along for the ride,” Marks, who most recently directed the indie film, “Mark, Mary & Some Other People,” brings us the story of a single father (Cho) who learns he has a terminal illness. In hopes of reuniting his daughter (Mia Isaac) with her mother and hoping he can cram in all the love and experience he will miss out on, he convinces her to take a road trip with him from California to Louisiana for his 20th college reunion.

Alongside Cho and Isaac, the film stars Mitchell Hope, Jemaine Clement, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Kaya Scodelario. “Don’t Make Me Go” originally premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and will now be released globally on Amazon Prime Video on July 15.
