Got a Tip?

‘Doctor Strange’ Trailer: The Multiverse Of Madness’ Teases The Return Of An Uncanny Hero

“The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little,” is the refrain Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) likes to repeat these days. And in another way, this tagline is for Marvel to suggest: now that the multiverse is wide open, absolutely anything is possible.  And so, the impossible is seemingly going to be explored in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” yet another Marvel movie that pits a rather large team around Strange.

As previous trailers have shown, that team around Strange includes Benedict Wong as Wong, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Xochitl Gomez as the young newcomer America Chavez, and Evil Doctor Strange (Cumberbatch again), reprising the role created on Marvel’s animated “What If?” series.

Chiwetel Ejiofor returns as the now antagonistic sorcerer Karl Mordo, but even like the Evil Doctor Strange, it’s still very unclear who the villain of this movie is. What seems to be very clear is, this movie, directed by Sam Raimi (Sony’s original “Spider-Man” trilogy), is going to be loaded with multiverse cameos, and perhaps some of the ones we’ve already seen in “What If?” like Captain Carter and other new versions of previous characters. But in terms of cameos and possibilities, they are endless and the rumors on these appearances are vast (we won’t mention them in case they end up being major spoilers).

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Dr. Stephen Strange continues his research on the Time Stone. But an old friend-turned-enemy puts an end to his plans and causes Strange to unleash unspeakable evil.
