Got a Tip?

Demian Bichir, Amy Seimetz, And More Join Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien: Covenant’

Demian Bichir, Amy SeimetzRidley Scott really loves ensemble casting of late. Both "Exodus: Gods And Kings" and "The Martian" featured massive rosters of talent, and as "Alien: Covenant" gears up, it looks like an equally sizable crew is coming aboard the sci-fi sequel, joining Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, and Danny McBride.

Demian Bichir, Amy Seimetz ("Upstream Color," the upcoming "The Girlfriend Experience" series), Jussie Smollett ("Empire"), Carmen Ejogo ("Selma") and Callie Hernandez (who will be seen in Terrence Malick‘s "Weightless" and the Ryan Gosling/Emma Stone joint "La La Land") have all joined "Alien: Covenant," but of course, their roles aren’t being revealed. The new movie follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, who discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Meanwhile, Harry Gregson-Williams, who has previously scored Scott pictures "The Martian" and "Kingdom Of Heaven," has said he’ll likely be scoring "Alien: Covenant" as well.

“I’m pretty sure he said I could do it.. I’m pretty sure he said ‘do the next one’… That’ll be much later in the year or not for a while yet. I’m excited about that,” he told Film Music Media in a recent interview (see below, via Scified).
