As seen in the trailer for “Defending Jacob,” Evans stars as an assistant district attorney that finds himself stuck between choosing between potential justice and the unconditional love for his son. The series follows the story of a DA that gets dragged into a murder investigation when it is revealed that his son, Jacob, has been arrested for the crime. Now, the DA has to defend his son, even as evidence begins to point the finger back at Jacob.
The series stars Chris Evans, Michelle Dockery, Jaeden Martell, Betty Gabriel, Pablo Schreiber, Cherry Jones, Sakina Jaffrey, and J.K. Simmons. “Defending Jacob” is written and showrun by Mark Bomback. He’s probably best known as the writer of films such as “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “War for the Planet of the Apes,” and the ill-fated “Total Recall” remake. Most recently, he wrote “The Art of Racing in the Rain.”
The 8-episode limited series is directed by Morten Tyldum, who is best known for films “The Imitation Game” and “Passengers.” Recently, he’s directed episodes of “Counterpart” and “Jack Ryan.”
“Defending Jacob” arrives on Apple TV+ on April 24.
