Got a Tip?

‘Deadpool 2’ Reactions Promise A Filthier, Funnier Superhero Sequel

It’s only been two weeks since Marvel Studios unleashed “Avengers: Infinity War” on a superhero-loving public. You would think that releasing another major superhero film only a couple weeks later might be a bit anti-climactic. Well, that’s definitely not the case for “Deadpool 2.” The sequel is projected to have a huge opening weekend, and judging by the first reactions from critics, the film is going to hit all the right notes with fans of the original.

Consider “Deadpool 2” a bit of a palate cleanser. After the death and destruction wrought by Thanos, we have Josh Brolin coming back to the superhero world, but as a sorta, kinda good guy Cable. Even though he seems to be giving Deadpool and his newly formed X-Force a run for their money, historically, Cable has been a good guy, so don’t expect Brolin to have the same meanness from ‘Infinity War’ in this film. Plus, with Ryan Reynolds cracking off-color jokes left and right, it’s obvious that the folks over at Fox are going for a different tone than the world-ending seriousness that was ‘Avengers.’

And as we mentioned, critics seem to be eating it up. While reviews are embargoed still, the people who were able to watch early screenings hit Twitter to offer their thoughts on the film. And it looks like, for the most part, the superhero sequel was able to capture the feel of the original “Deadpool” while turning everything up a notch.

Our own Rodrigo Perez has this to say about the film (full review coming soon!), “The proper #Deadpool2 reaction: Overkill maximalism in every sense, but it’s entertaining nonetheless. Hard-R violent mayhem that is filthier and funnier (and sometimes much more serious and melodramatic). Hilarious cameos and lol post-credit scenes.” Read many more reactions below!

Plus, we have a new trailer for the film, featuring none other than David Beckham. Now, if you’re curious why David Beckham is part of a “Deadpool 2” trailer, then you clearly don’t remember the silly joke about the world-famous athlete from the first film. Needless to say, as seen in the trailer, Deadpool has some apologizing to do. But funny enough, Beckham would rather the actor apologize for films like “Green Lantern,” “RIPD,” “Selfless,” and the lesser-seen “Boltneck.”

“Boltneck was a masterpiece!”, Reynolds shouts.

The trailer is yet another quality entry in the marketing for the film, and well worth your time:
