What are the two things people on the internet seem to love the most? Cute animals and superheroes, right? Well, Warner Bros. is hoping those are like peanut butter and chocolate, and the studio is going to combine cute pets and superheroes in the upcoming animated film, “DC League of Super-Pets.”
As seen in the trailer for the film, “DC League of Super-Pets” features the adventures of Krypto, Superman’s trusted pet sidekick, as he must pull together a rag-tag group of heroic animals to help save the Justice League, who have been mysteriously kidnapped.
The voice cast for the film includes Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, Marc Maron, Thomas Middleditch, Ben Schwartz, and Keanu Reeves. Yes, that’s probably the most stacked superhero cast since “Avengers: Endgame.” Bravo, Warner Bros. for making that happen.
Jared Stern, a writer/contributor for previous “LEGO” films is making his directorial debut with ‘Super-Pets.’ He co-wrote the script alongside John Whittington.
“DC League of Super-Pets” arrives in theaters on May 20, 2022. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
In “DC League of Super-Pets,” Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side. When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes.
