Never say never. After four films in the world of "Harry Potter," David Yates seemed to have moved on. He’s now directing "Tarzan," and was involved in the early stages of the FX series "Tyrant." But it appears J.K. Rowling has worked her magic on him once again, as Yates is going back to the world of wizards.
THR reports that Yates will direct Potter-world film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." The new trilogy-spawning series focuses on Newt Scamander, with the story taking place seventy years before Harry even comes into the picture. It follows his adventures once he is tasked with writing the titular book about ‘Fantastic Beasts.’ So sorry, no Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson cameos, though these days, with ever expanding movie universes, we wouldn’t be shocked if they find a way to cram them in there anyway (and Yates is a good lure to get them back into their magical gear).
But ultimately, WB has chosen safe hands for their valuable franchise, and you can feel young again on November 18, 2016.
Very disappointed.
Why not choose someone with merit?
Disappointing . I din't he was the the worst in the franchise. His best film – probably Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part I. Loved Columbus and Cuaron . But i was hoping a new director doing these movies , probably Guillermo Del Toro or somebody new . Preferably Guillermo Del Toro / Also Peter Jackson if he can go non action would have been a great choice. But Gareth Edwards would have been a good choice. Tim Burton maybe. But GDT for me
I've suddenly just lost excitement for this project. Couldn't they get someone with talent and imagination like Cuaron or del Torro?
