According to Amazon (via Stitch and /Film), the soundtrack to “Tron Legacy,” composed by French dance duo Daft Punk, will hit shelves and digital outlets on November 23, 2010.
That’s about a month before the film hits theaters on December 17th, but Amazon dates this far out? Don’t be completely surprised if that date is changed. It does feel early, but then again, this could be a bonafide Daft Punk release that merits its own early release.
Apparently there’s been rumors that Daft Punk would play Comic-Con, but /Film confirms this isn’t true. Frankly, even if Variety once mentioned this, it’s not something we’d buy. Daft Punk don’t tour often, don’t do one-offs and aren’t cheap. Then again, we still can hardly believe they agreed to do the music to a Disney film.
“Tron Legacy is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Michael Sheen and Olivia Wilde. We’ll have to muster more energy for it closer to November cause right now the only thing exciting about it is new Daft Punk music, though admittedly, trailers so far are not bad.
First of all, Tron is more than just a "Disney" film and maybe Daft Punk are as fucking stuck up and full of themselves as you. This site and it's "writers" get more pompous by the day.
Gonna have to agree with Anonymous on this one. It seems contrarian = hip on The Playlist lately. But then I still read it, so….
the daft punk dudes are huge nerds. They probably geeked out at the chance to do a tron sequel.
Tron became a classic, I believe this movie coming up will be even better than the original.
Have you ever taken the time to learn WHY Daft Punk don't tour anymore? This article is the height of ignorance
