‘Cruella,’ ‘Dune,’ & ‘Emily In Paris’ Among 2022 Costume Designer Guild Awards Winners

It’s that guild awards time of year. A period where every night Los Angeles has a guild or union handing out their peer-reviewed honors. Happily, this year’s ceremonies have (mostly) returned to in-person events and that was the case for the 2022 Costume Guild Awards where Jenny Beavan looks to propel herself to her third Academy Award win thanks to her work on “Cruella.”

Beaven took the Excellence in Period Film award while fellow Oscar nominees, Jacqueline West and Robert Morgan, took the Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film award for “Dune.” The third film category, Excellence in Contemporary Film, went to Ruth E. Carter for “Coming 2 America.”

On the television side, winners included “The Great,” “Emily in Paris,” “The Book of Boba Fett” and “Saturday Night Live.”
