Sarah Gadon knows a thing or two about freaky movies. A favorite of the Cronenberg brood — she starred in David’s “A Dangerous Method” and “Cosmopolis” and is slated to star in his next effort “Maps To The Stars” while she also featured in Brandon’s “Antiviral” — the actress is on her way up, and now has a franchise movie to call her own.
Universal is now in talks with Gadon for the female lead in “Dracula” aka The Movie That Will Make Luke Evans Happen. Penned by “Flash Gordon” writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, this is an origin story thing, showing how young Prince Vlad sacrifices himself at the hands of a bloodthirsty sultan and becomes the first vampire. No word yet on what Gadon’s role exactly is, but undoubtedly, she’ll be under Vlad’s gaze or spell or get bitten on whatever. Okay, so we’re not excited for this movie, but we like Gadon, and that’s a reason why we’ll plunk ourselves down to watch it.
Commercials director Gary Shore will direct and production will begin this year, for an August 8, 2014 release. [Variety]
Luke Evans is, was and forever shall be. We all need to bow down to the wisp titan that is Luke Evans. LUKE POWER!
Gadon deserves better than this. Hopefully this becomes a hit and helps her get financing for more interesting projects.
Well this is just a popcorn movie, I think she's doing alright. Not any young actress can say they've worked with David Cronenberg three times in a row back to back. I also think her other upcoming indie roles are great.
Love Gadon, hopefully, soon she'll be on short lists that are dominated by Scarlett Johansson and Carey Mulligan.
She's a good actress, but this sounds terrible. Wish she got better roles.
boring
Who the fuck is she?
