Super Bowl LVII gave us a lot of highlights, including a new Rihanna performance, but it’s safe to say the game was overlooked by all the media around it; Rihanna, the commercials, and of course, all the big movie trailers. Released late in the evening was the new Big Game Spot for “Creed III,” the third in the “Creed” boxing franchise spun-off from the “Rocky” franchise that finally goes it alone without Sylvester Stallone.

That feels risky and ambitious, but perhaps in that “run towards the danger” that a lot of athletes and high-performance people take on, lead star Michael B. Jordan set out to make the film with his biggest challenge ever. Not only does he lead the franchise, but he also makes his directorial debut with “Creed III”—that’s no joke either; boxing films need a ton of choreography and dynamism, and Jordan surely picked a big challenge for his first film.
Jordan may have an ace up his sleeve that gave him confidence. Not only has he watched producer Ryan Coogler direct these films (he’s credited with the story, too, along with Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin, who wrote the screenplay), but he also has Jonathan Majors on board for this installment—arguably one of the most in-demand actors of the moment right now
“Creed III” also stars Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Mila Davis-Kent, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad. After dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has been thriving in both his career and family life. When a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian (Jonathan Majors), resurfaces after serving a long sentence in prison, he is eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian – a fighter who has nothing to lose. Creed III is the third installment in the successful franchise and is Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut.
