Got a Tip?

‘Last Dance,’ Eddie Murphy & ‘Bad Education’ Top Creative Arts Emmys Final Night

The long week of Creative Arts Emmys is finally over. After five nights of virtual ceremonies, the Television Academy has bestowed a heap of trophies to “Watchmen,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “The Mandalorian,” “Succession” and “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” And there were a number of notable individual winners as well.

Maya Rudolph won her second Emmy in one week after taking the Guest Actress in a Comedy Series category for her portrayal of Kamala Harris on “Saturday Night Live.” “The Mandalorian” earned its sixth Emmy win so far after Ludwig Göransson took Music Composition (Original Dramatic Score) and following his Oscar and Grammy wins for “Black Panther” is now just a Tony Award away from EGOT. “Dave Chappelle’s Sticks & Stones” took three Emmys including Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-recorded). RuPaul Charles took a record fifth straight Emmy for Outstanding Host of a Reality-Competition program for “Drag Race.”

“The Last Dance” won a stacked race in the Documentary or Nonfiction giving ESPN a major Emmy triumph.

“Bad Education,” which debuted at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival and was then acquired by HBO, won the Emmy for Television Movie.

The acclaimed and popular Netflix series “Cheer” took Unstructured Reality Program which will be unfortunately mared by the fact on of its subjects, Jeremy Harris, was charged with sexual misconduct and producing child porn just a few days ago.

To look back at the winners of the four previous Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies this week, click on the links below.

Creative Arts Emmys Night One: “Queer Eye” and “The Apollo” big winners
Creative Arts Emmys Night Two: “Saturday Night Live” can’t be stopped
Creative Arts Emmys Night Three: “The Mandalorian” wins five Emmys

The 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards will be held live tomorrow, September 20 on ABC beginning at 5 PM PT, 8 PM ET.
