As mentioned, “Conversations with Friends” is based on the Sally Rooney novel of the same name. As seen in the new trailer, the series follows the story of a young college student who has to navigate the world of relationships and confront her own struggles and vulnerabilities. Yes, this seems to be tailor-made for folks who enjoyed “Normal People.” Go figure. It’s almost like it’s from the same author or something.

The cast for the new drama series includes Alison Oliver, Joe Alwyn, Sasha Lane, and Jemima Kirke. Though the cast has changed, fans of “Normal People” will be happy to know that many of the same people involved in that adaptation will be on board for the new series. This includes filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson, co-writer Alice Birch, and many of the same producers.
