With the awards season now drawing to a close, and the Oscars just a few weeks away, the last few months have been a reminder that not only is cinema very much alive and well, the diversity of stories that move and thrill us has never been better. But while we all have our individual reasons why we love movies, what about the people who make them? That’s the simple premise behind the appropriately titled "What I Love About Movies" from the folks at Little White Lies, and today we have some hardcover copies of the book to put in your hands.
Featuring Richard Linklater, Wes Anderson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Helen Mirren, Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kristen Stewart, Ralph Fiennes, Steve McQueen, Carey Mulligan, Francis Ford Coppola, and more, along with beautiful illustrations for each subject (see below), the book features quotes from those talents and many more, sharing their personal connections with the medium that has made their careers. It’s the perfect coffee table book for cinephiles. So, how do you get your hands on one?
To win follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and tweet: "I want to win What I Love About Movies from @ThePlaylist. #WinThePlaylistContest" and include this link. Your final step: just emails us your tweet, your full name and address, and tell us why you love the movies. Good luck!

Update: Contest closed, winners will be contacted via email.
Forget the book, I kinda want that art of Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a poster. I\’d pay top dollar for a quality print of that.
I love movies since they are no longer brain dead chick flicks. Today they are unpredictable and use grammar flaws making them sound authentic (and of course we all use the "f" word now). My favorite are comedies that aren\’t "comedies". Do you realize how funny DESPERADO is? Pure genius mixing the intense with a sicko laugh. It give me hope for myself hearing that the "black list" is being considered as choice flicks. I hope to be one of these writers having started 4 screenplays.
You left out our blood type and first born child. Too many hoops to jump through.
