While “Devil” didn’t exactly light up the box office, it was budgeted at a paltry $10 million and its $12.6 million haul means that in studio eyes, it’s a success and should end up turning a profit. So that means that M. Night Shyamalan’s Night Chronicles produced films will continue and the next one in the pipeline is “Reincarnate.”
Previously known as “Twelve Strangers,” Daniel Stamm hinted earlier in the month that he would be directing the project and now it has been confirmed. The story will revolve around “a jury haunted by supernatural forces while deciding the fate of an accused murderer.” So basically it’s the plot of “Devil” moved from an elevator to a jury room. Sigh.
Production will begin next year. Stamm’s latest, the tepid horror entry “The Last Exorcism” hit theaters last month.
i thought 'devil' was a lot of fun (nothing spectacular) and hope this series continues to be profitable. it's a neat concept and its nice to see new filmmakers get a crack.
twelve strangers sounds nothing like 'devil'. im glad you guys dont write movies.
