Composers Jóhann Jóhannsson, Justin Hurwitz & Nicholas Britell Talk Crafting Some Of The Year’s Best Scores

If you’re a music fan and love breaking down the details of how great songs come together, then you’re probably well aware of the Song Exploder podcast. Hosted by Hrishikesh Hirway, it’s a great show about the intricacies of creating great music, and over the past few months, he’s landed some terrific guests who helped craft some of the best scores of the past year.

Jóhann Jóhannsson (“Arrival“), Justin Hurwitz (“La La Land“) and Nicholas Britell (“Moonlight“) have all dropped by Song Exploder for their own episodes, and they are all must-listens. Their three very distinct works are a reminder of just how terrific a year we’ve had for music at the movies, and great prep for the Oscars, where Hurwitz and Britell are both up for Best Original Score.
