“Kyle XY” star Jaimie Alexander, and Colm Feore (“Changeling”) have joined Kenneth Branagh’s Marvel comics adaptation “Thor.” Alexander will play Sif, a Norse warrior and love interest for Thor (is this the role that Jessica Biel was rumored to be taking, which she’s presumably dumped for “The A-Team?”), while Feore’s part is unclear, but likely to be a villain, probably because the actor always plays villains.
The Hollywood Reporter hilariously tells us that “the studio isn’t even sending the actors the script,” which goes to show how important both the actors and the script will be in the final project.
Feore and Alexander join the already cast Chris Hemsworth (“Star Trek”) as Thor, Tom Hiddleston (TV’s “Wallander”) as Loki and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, the Norse god’s real world love interest. Call us cynical, but five’ll get you ten that this is a spectacular disaster on both a commercial and a critical level, partly because Branagh is exactly the wrong choice for material already as po-faced as this, and partly because it’s about a seven-foot-tall Scandinavian man in a silly hat.
Feore as Odin, perhaps?
Brian Blessed is Odin.
Also, c'mon- I'm cynical about this project, but Kenneth Branagh is PERFECT for this ridiculousness.
I can see the whole Avengers movie idea will falling apart and not happenning. It's just a great way for some hype. And that hype won't help Thor.
