Later today, the first trailer for "Terminator: Genisys" will land, with the movie slated to arrive six years after the last franchise entry, "Terminator Salvation." And times haven’t changed all that much. Just like ‘Genisys,’ fans were very skeptical about ‘Salvation,’ a situation not helped by the reports of a tough shoot, set off by leaked audio of Christian Bale exploding at a crew member. The production was not a pleasant experience for Bale, and the actor makes it clear the movie is not his favorite.
"Look, it didn’t work regardless. But if it was going to fail, I wanted it to fail on its own merits. (Laughs) Not because people said what an a—hole I am, you know?" he told The Wall Street Journal about the minor controversy that followed. But why did he do the movie at all? Well, as Bale explains, he was giving director McG (whose previous films at that point were "We Are Marshall" and the "Charlie’s Angels" flicks) a shot…but you might not be surprised to learn Bale won’t be picking up if the filmmaker calls again.
"…he goes, ‘Give me a chance. Everyone needs to evolve, and I need to turn over a new leaf. And please, you must’ve been in this position before yourself, when someone has taken a leap of faith on you,’ — which I have — ‘please do that for me now; I promise you, I’m ready for it,’" Bale shared. And what does he make of that risk?
"There’s a lot of room for many approaches and many characters within the film industry. I won’t be working with him again, but I wish him very well. Okay?" Fair enough.
Meanwhile, Bale will be seen next in "Exodus: Gods And Kings" and below are two new clips from the film and a handful of featurettes.
this blog is constantly revised by masthead and contributors – i refuse to call these empoyees writers – to make themselves appear slightly knowledgeable about the topics they squibble about. no surprise here \’cast\’ was edited to \’crew\’ when no one was looking. bit of a shameful practice, but i can see why they would not want to add an updated or edited signifier when only pretending to be professionals.
As a matter of fact, it WAS the DP. This has been confirmed many times over.
It was the DP\’s giraffe.
The article didn\’t say he yelled at a \’cast member\’ it said \’crew member\’ which is true.
Hank, perhaps someone edited this article after you commented; it reads, "crew member," not "cast member."
A former superhero with anger problems complains about artistic integrity while promoting an extremely inappropriate adaptation. It\’s like real life Birdman!
Christian, 75% of the directors making a living in hollywood shouldnt be directing. That\’s right, two thirds suck ass.
@RUSSELL – He actually was yelling at Shane Hurlbut the DP. Bale said at one point "I tryna f–kin do a scene here and I\’m goin, \’Why the f–k is Shane walkin in there?\’" and "I\’ve never had a DP behave like this before"
McG can suck my ball bag.
Actually, wasn\’t the DP, but some lighting tech.
McG shouldn\’t be directing. Period.
Bale yelled at the director of photography for jumping in his eye-line during a shot.
he was caught on tape yelling at the DP not a cast member
