Got a Tip?

Chris Pratt Will Hate Mondays As The Voice Of Garfield In A New Animated Film

Back in September, Chris Pratt seemed to upset the entire internet by announcing that he is going to voice Mario in a new “Super Mario Bros.” animated film. And just when it seemed like the internet was ready to move on, the actor goes and stakes his claim to another beloved character, Garfield, and the internet continues to be baffled.

According to Alcon Entertainment, Chris Pratt has signed on to provide the voice of the title character in the upcoming animated feature, “Garfield.” Yes, Star-Lord is going to talk about Mondays and lasagna. And as you might expect, this is likely going to start another round of social media posts where people are confused, upset, and concerned. It would appear Chris Pratt is ready to take yet another childhood favorite of so many people and put his own spin on it.

The new “Garfield” film comes from writer David Reynolds (“Finding Nemo”) and is being directed by Mark Dindal. The filmmaker is probably best known for his work as an animator on classic Disney features such as “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin.” As a director, he’s helmed features such as “Chicken Little” and “The Emperor’s New Groove.”

It’s unclear who might voice other characters in the “Garfield” film as well as what the plot of the feature might actually be. Previously, the character appeared in two mid-2000s live-action features with Bill Murray famously providing the voice of the overweight, cynical cat. A release date for the new “Garfield” film is also unclear.
