This week was big for those diehard Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. On Tuesday, people finally got the chance to watch “Avengers: Infinity War” from the comfort of their home, as Disney released the digital copy of the $2 billion-earning film. And with the digital release came deleted scenes, a gag reel, the Nick Fury stinger at the end, and a very, very happy Leslie Jones.
What does Leslie Jones have to do with ‘Infinity War?’ Well, glad that you asked! No, she doesn’t have a secret easter egg cameo. She’s just a huge fan of superhero movies and didn’t get a chance to catch the ‘Avengers’ film in theaters. And her loss is our gain, as the comedian decided to live-tweet the entire film and, as you might expect, her reactions are priceless. So priceless, in fact, that her tweets caught the eye of a certain Captain America.
In one of her dozen or so tweets about the film, Jones posted her reaction to Captain America’s triumphant introduction to the film. Needless to say, she was psyched. “Ladies and gentlemen, introducing my motherf—— husband. Oh my god, Captain America, you are fine as f—!” she said in the video tweet.
That tweet caught the eye of Chris Evans, aka Captain America, and he decided to tweet Jones himself, saying, “What’s truly shocking is that this is EXACTLY what [Paul Bettany] says to me every time I enter a room. Verbatim.”
There were some other highlights from her tweetstorm, including her thoughts on Thanos, where she said, “Man, f— this guy, man. F— him.” There’s also her reaction to the controversial, and surprising, ending of the film, “Sooooo nobody didn’t want to tell me it was gonna end like that WTF?!”
But ultimately, Jones says she figured it out. After sleeping on it, she found the true villain of ‘Infinity War,’ and it wasn’t Thanos. She tweeted, “Ok I have slept on it the dude from the guardians of the galaxy f—– up everything.” That is, of course, referencing the fact that Star-Lord decided to act out against Thanos, while the rest of the heroes almost had the Infinity Gauntlet off his fist.
Jones also had questions about the very, very end of the film, which featured Nick Fury turning to dust as he tried to communicate with Captain Marvel. Now that the film is finally officially released digitally, you can watch the stinger in all its glory. Well, Jones has questions, tweeting, “Um who is this captain marvel?! And why have I heard that before? Tell me more please? Where is she now? And where is the justice league? I’m pissed like tell me this marvel lady!!”
Obviously, she’s a little confused, but her passion is admirable.
And if Jones’ commentary wasn’t enough to make you laugh today, we’ve also attached the deleted scenes and the gag reel from the film below. The deleted scenes include an extended Vision/Scarlet Witch vs the Black Order scene, as well as a more meaty exchange between Thanos and Gamora aboard his ship. There’s also a helpful 4+ minute scene explaining just how the Guardians found out about Thanos being on Titan.
