Before even a frame has shot, the buzz is building around "The Girl On The Train." The source material is Paula Hawkins‘ novel, which became something of a sensation this year. And the trio of lead actresses cast so far is pretty terrific too, with Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, and Haley Bennett all nabbing roles. Now, two more big names are boarding the picture.
Variety reports Jared Leto and Chris Evans are in early talks for the movie, slated to be directed by Tate Taylor ("The Help," "Get On Up"). The plot revolves around a young woman whose observations of a married couple on her daily commute take a sudden, deadly turn when she sees something not quite right. And while the story has been transplanted from Britain to New York City, Blunt recently confirmed her character will keep her accent.
"It’s moved to New York but I’m going to play her as British, that was a decision Tate and I made recently," the actress told BBC.
The deals for Leto and Evans are still being sorted, but once the ink is signed they will play the husbands of Bennett and Ferguson, respectively.

The casting? Well, I like these performers. Blunt\’s character is supposed to be a rather plump alcoholic and so I take it Hollywood is going to make her prettier than she\’s described in the book (not that I\’m surprised).
Honestly, though, this book was pretty awful. The quality of the writing was poor and the only suspense it managed to generate was through an unreliable narrator and the author\’s decision to illogically hide certain relevant details. I rolled my eyes when I heard they were filming this, but with this talent, perhaps they can make something out of this story.
