Tired of the ordinary and expected? Looking for smart, fulfilling cinema that doesn’t play by anyone else’s rules? It might seem hard to find anything like that in the current blockbuster-driven tentpole world, but this spring you’ll be offered a high-quality reprieve from the popcorn glut with both Jim Jarmusch‘s “Only Lovers Left Alive” and Jonathan Glazer‘s “Under The Skin.”
With both movies on the way, a couple of new one sheets have arrived. First a nice poster for Jarmusch’s unique take on the vampire movie has dropped (and features a quote from our own Jessica Kiang’s review, who declared the movie “surprisingly romantic and sexy.” And indeed it is.) Meanwhile, the promo pic for “Under The Skin” offers another evocative image from Glazer’s brilliantly enigmatic film that completely reinvents traditional notions of what it means to be an alien on film.
“Under The Skin” opens first on April 4th, followed by “Only Lovers Left Alive” on April 11th.
