Pamela Adlon is about to become a household name. Most know her as a frequent guest star on the FX series “Louie,” but now, with that show’s future is up in the air, she has landed her own show on the network called “Better Things.” If the recently released first trailer is any indication, fans of “Louie” should love this new series.
In “Better Things,” Adlon plays Sam, an actress and divorced mother of three girls trying her best to juggle her professional career and personal life. Dealing with dating as a single mother, trying to provide for her kids, and an oldest daughter asking her to buy pot, Sam just struggles to get by. Adlon created “Better Things” alongside her longtime and collaborator, Louis C.K. The series is semi-autobiographical, similar to C.K.’s own “Louie,” and already looks like it’s going to be winner
FX is still trying to fill the void left by “Louie.” Will “Better Things” be that show? Audiences will get a chance to decide when the show premieres September 8th.
