Charlie Cox Teases More Daredevil In The MCU: “I Know A Little Bit…It’s Really Exciting”

Look, if you haven’t seen “Spider-Man: No Way Home” already, then you’re likely already spoiled, as pictures and screengrabs from the film have been circulating for weeks now. We’re going to assume most everyone has seen it or at least knows what happens, with the film grossing more than $1.7 billion worldwide. So, let’s talk about the future of Charlie Cox and the character of Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil.

If you’ve seen ‘No Way Home’ or just don’t live under a rock, you’re probably aware that Charlie Cox makes his triumphant return as Matt Murdock (not necessarily Daredevil) in a brief scene. It’s just a couple of minutes, but after years of fans hoping for the actor to return, since his “Daredevil” Netflix series was canceled, it’s a welcome addition. And for Cox, it appears, this just might be the beginning of a whole new run as the character.

Speaking to THR, Charlie Cox talked about the process of returning as Matt Murdock (basically, he just got a surprise phone call from Kevin Feige and quickly expressed his excitement) and what the future might hold. Of course, for the past several months, Cox had to lie to fans to hide the surprise cameo, but now that it’s out in the open, the actor is willing to be a bit more forthcoming about what’s to come.

“Look, I don’t have any idea what anyone’s plans are at this stage, but I presume there’s more for us to do,” Cox said.

But let’s be real, Charlie Cox knows the character’s future, right? Well, after months of lying to fans, the actor is willing to let a little bit of a tease come out. Though, it’s hard to know exactly what he is talking about.

“I know a little bit — not a huge amount — but a little bit,” he teased. “I am imagining, I am hoping, that our worlds will collide again because the stuff we’ve done in the past was tremendous fun to do, and he’s such an incredible actor. We have to start every conversation with, ‘What do you know?’ because you have to be careful. It’s really exciting.”

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” is in theaters now. And in an interesting turn of events, it appears that on March 1, the entire lineup of Marvel live-action TV shows on Netflix, including “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” and the rest, are going to leave the streaming service. Presumably, they’ll find their way on Disney+, right? And boy, that would be a fun time to announce more Daredevil, huh?
