Got a Tip?

Chad Stahelski To Direct Michael B. Jordan In ‘Rainbow Six’ Film

It has taken years to make, but it appears that Tom Clancy’sRainbow Six” is finally moving toward production as a feature film. With the prequel, “Without Remorse,” doing seemingly good business for Paramount and Amazon when it was released in 2021, the sequel film not only sees the return of Michael B. Jordan as John Clark, a counterterrorism expert and overall badass, but it also serves as filmmaker Chad Stahelski’s introduction into the Clancyverse franchise.

According to THR, Chad Stahelski has signed on to direct the upcoming film, “Rainbow Six.” As mentioned, the film serves as the second in Michael B. Jordan’s Clancyverse, after the 2021 film, “Without Remorse.” Introduced in that film, action badass John Clark (Jordan) returns in “Rainbow Six” to form a new, supersecret counterterrorism team called Rainbow. The military team finds itself attempting to save the world from various bad guys. It’s a Tom Clancy story, you get the idea, right?

Not much else is known about the film at this time. “Without Remorse” was directed by Stefano Sollima and released in April 2021. That film found itself as an Amazon Prime Video exclusive, as Paramount was concerned about the theatrical release model during the pandemic. However, the report claims the studio is now interested in keeping “Rainbow Six” as a theatrical release, for the time being.

“Rainbow Six” might be one of the most popular of Tom Clancy’s novels. Yes, it’s loosely tied to the world of Jack Ryan and those stories, but “Rainbow Six” has taken on a life of its own thanks to the various video games that have been released over the years. The video games have appealed to younger generations who enjoy the military action aspect of the stories, of course, which is why Stahelski is such a good director for the job.

Stahelski is best known for creating the “John Wick franchise and directing the three (almost four) films in the series. The “John Wick” films have been incredibly popular and have proven that Stahelski (who has a stunt background) is one of the best action directors working today.

No release time frame for “Rainbow Six” is known at this time.
