But Will Actually Shoot In Louisiana
Are you ready for more PG-13 thrills? Gold Circle Films, producers behind the “The Haunting in Connecticut” are getting ready to scare you in a whole other state!
B-listers (at best) Chad Michael Murray, Abigail Spencer, Katee Sackhoff, Emily Alyn Lind and Cicely Tyson have all signed on for “‘The Haunting In Georgia.” Though this is usually the place where we’d make a joke concerning the state’s slogan, it’s actually “Georgia On My Mind” which is a pretty great song (particularly the version sung by Hoagy Carmichael). But if there is anything truly hilarious about this project, it’s that it will actually shoot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Anyhow, the film will center on a blue collar, no-nonsense husband (Murray) and his wife who shares terrifying visions and a curse with her younger sister (Sackhoff) that she fears has been passed along her daughter Heidi (Lind). Presumably head-spinning, climbing up walls and cheap CGI effects ensue.
David Coggeshall (“Watch Over Me,” “Desire“) has penned the screenplay with first timer Tom Elkins behind the camera. Filming begins later this month and it will most likely come out next year, we’re guessing in August which seems to be a good place for these kinds of films, or possibly in October, now that “Saw 3D” has (hopefully) officially been retired. For the record, the \”Georgia\” in \”Georgia On My Mind\” is a woman not the state.
