"The Secret In Their Eyes" remake is still happening and is getting a casting switcheroo. Nicole Kidman is replacing Gwyneth Paltrow in the brewing re-do that already has Julia Roberts and Chiwetel Ejiofor attached. Billy Ray ("Shattered Glass") will direct the film about an FBI agent struggling to get over the murder of his daughter, which is nothing like the original, but whatever, right? [THR]
"Game Of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke and Marton Csokas have lined up the thriller "Voice From The Stone." The story follows "a solemn nurse drawn to aid a young boy named Jakob who has fallen silent since the untimely death of his mother nearly a year ago. Living with his father in a massive stone manor in Tuscany, Jakob not only refuses to speak, he seems to be under the spell of a malevolent force trapped within the stone walls. As Verena’s relationship with the father and son grow, she becomes ensnared and consumed by Malvina’s severe force. If she is to save the boy, and free herself, she must face the phantom hidden inside the stone." Production will begin this month with Eric D. Howell directing. [Flicks And Bits]
Superman himself, Henry Cavill, is launching a production company, and the first title on the slate is "Stratton." The actor will also lead the picture, the first in a book series by Duncan Falconer that centers on "an operative of the SBS who works with the Intelligence Detachment in Northern Ireland." Cameras will roll in the spring. [Deadline]
Barry Pepper and Lili Taylor have joined "The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials." The former will play "Vince, a survivalist who is one of the last remaining soldiers of a legendary unit called the Right Arm," with the latter as "Mary Cooper, a doctor helping Thomas and his fellow Gladers." See you on September 18, 2015. [THR/Deadline]
Rebecca Hall will star in Joel Edgerton‘s directorial debut, which he also wrote. No other details yet on the thriller, but lensing will kick off in early 2015. [The Wrap]
Jay Chou ("The Green Hornet") has joined the already confirmed Daniel Radcliffe and Lizzy Caplan for "Now You See Me 2." The ensemble is rounded out by Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine and Dave Franco with the story taking place one year after the Four Horsemen outwitted the FBI and won the public’s adulation with their mind-bending spectacles. But they resurface to find themselves face to face with a new enemy who enlists them to pull off their most dangerous heist yet. Jon M. Chu will direct.

The original \’The Secret In Their Eyes\’ was absolutely fantastic, no doubt the remake will be terrible.
