Got a Tip?

Casting: Mark Wahlberg Is The ‘The Six Billion Dollar Man,’ Sylvester Stallone Eats ‘Animal Crackers’ & More

Lone Survivor"The Six Million Dollar Man" isn’t cool. You know what’s cool? "The Six Billion Dollar Man." That’s right, the ’70s series adaptation is getting a title boost via inflation as the long-brewing project moves ahead with Peter Berg attached to direct his "Lone Survivor" star Mark Wahlberg. The story seems to be pretty much the same, centering on "former astronaut Steve Austin who, after a horrific crash of an experimental plane, is saved by doctors when he is fitted with bionic replacements—both legs, his right arm and left eye. With super-human power, he becomes a force to be reckoned with for the government as a secret agent for the Office of Scientific Intelligence." Production begins next year for a 2016 release. Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Stephen Amell, and Elijah Kelly are fine with "Whatever Makes You Happy." Cindy Chupack will direct the film about “about two suburban mothers who decide to visit their 28-year-old sons in NYC.“ The movie is based on the novel by William Sutcliffe. [Deadline]

Benicio del Toro, Tim Robbins, Olga Kurylenko, and Melanie Thierry are starring in the currently-in-production "A Perfect Day." The movie has already wrapped (guess we missed the announcement of this one), and the Fernando Leon-directed movie centers on "a motley group of war-zone aid workers dealing with their own very human dramas: Mambru (Del Toro) wants to go home; Katya once wanted Mambru; B (Robbins) doesn’t know what he wants. And what they want rarely matches what they need. When a corpse contaminates the local well, the aid workers face a race against time across a frenzied war landscape to save the local water supply." Look for it next year. [Variety]

Sir Ian McKellen, Danny DeVito, Sylvester Stallone, Patrick Warburton, Gilbert Gottfried, Raven-Symoné, Harvey Fierstein, James Arnold Taylor, Tara Strong, and Lydia Taylor are lending their voices to the animated "Animal Crackers." The movie tells the story of a family whose life is turned upside down when they inherit a rundown circus and a mysterious box of Animal Crackers. The crackers, as it turns out, magically change the person who eats them into the animal they have eaten. OH NO. You’ll see this one in cinemas in 2016.

John Malkovich and Toni Collette have joined Noomi Rapace, Michael Douglas, and Orlando Bloom in director Michael Apted‘s "Unlocked." Described as a female Bourne style flick, the movie follows a CIA interrogator who unwittingly provides information to terrorists and then must race against the clock to stop a biological warfare attack on London. Production is now underway.
