Casting: Daniel Radcliffe Joins ‘Now You See Me 2,’ Eric Bana Sets His ‘Finest Hours’ And More

Michael Caine revealed that Daniel Radcliffe will join him and the rest of magical ensemble in the sequel. The "Harry Potter" franchise star will play Caine’s son in the film. Eric Bana is joining Chris Pine and Casey Affleck in "The Finest Hours." The Craig Gillespie-directed pic "chronicles the massive rescue mission that’s launched when a pair of oil tankers split in two off the coast of Cape Cod in 1952." [Deadline]

"Game Of Thrones" star Richard Madden is celebrating "Bastille Day" with Idris Elba. The action movie "follows a rogue U.S. CIA operative who is tasked with interrogating and eventually making a young American man, who’s also a con-artist, ‘disappear’ in order to avoid embarrassment to the U.S. government after the American is linked as the prime suspect to an attack on the Paris metro. After several more attacks, the operative realizes the young American is innocent and may be the only link to the person actually orchestrating the terrorist attacks." It looks like Topher Grace is quietly getting legit. The actor has a role in Christopher Nolan‘s forthcoming "Interstellar," and has now bagged a part in "Truth" with Robert Redford, Cate Blanchett, Elisabeth Moss and Dennis QuaidJames Vanderbilt will direct the movie, which tells the true story of the scandal around Dan Rather’s "60 Minutes" report about George Bush‘s service (or lack thereof) in the Vietnam War. Sarah Jessica Parker will star in the rom-com "All Roads Lead To Rome." The movie follows "Maggie, an uptight American on a road trip throughout Italy with her Italian former lover Luca as they seek out Maggie’s rebellious teenage daughter." Pass. [Deadline]

"Twilight" star Ashley Greene feels the "Urge." She’s joining Pierce Brosnan in the thriller about a "group of friends who escape on an island destination weekend and find themselves unable to resist trying a new designer drug. The drug appears to be perfect. However, the group discovers its one major side effect: It makes people lose the ability to control their urges." [THR]

Harvey Keitel just wrapped the holocaust drama "Chosen." The movie tells the story of "Sonson, an unassuming young lawyer (Luke Mably) who leads a fight against the Nazis near the end of the Second World War. With the help of Judith (Ana Ularu) he turns a struggle for survival into a mission to save thousands of lives." The plan is to have it in the can before Cannes next year (see what we did there?). William Hurt has joined the currently-in-production "Race." He’ll be featured alongside Stephan James, Jeremy Irons, Jason Sudeikis, Amanda Crew and Carice van Houten in the movie about "Jesse Owens‘ quest to become one of the greatest track and field athletes, defying the odds of being a black athlete competing at the advent of Adolf Hitler‘s reign as Germany’s leader trying to create a perfect Aryan race for the country." That question about Now You See Me 2 makes me wonder if you actually saw it, given that half the core cast doing the "heists" in the film were younger actors (Harrelson and Ruffalo being the exceptions) while Caine\’s character was one of the victims in the elaborate revenge plot that ran through that film.
