Although the Toronto International Film Festival is having trouble tracking down Bill Murray, in order to secure his hotly buzzed "St. Vincent" for a premiere screening, the actor isn’t completely off the grid. Prone taking on gigs that suit his fleeting fancy, Murray has a surprise up his sleeve. The actor has joined Jon Favreau‘s upcoming live action/animated "Jungle Book," taking the role of the beloved Baloo. He joins Christopher Walken, Giancarlo Esposito, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson and Neel Sethi: The film is scheduled to open on October 9, 2015.
Laura Linney has joined Jude Law, Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman in "Genius." Based on A. Scott Berg’s book "Max Perkins: Editor Of Genius," the drama recounts the real-life relationship between literary giant Thomas Wolfe (Law) and renowned editor Max Perkins (Firth), who developed a tender, complex friendship that changed the lives of both men forever. Linney will be playing Perkins’ wife. [Baz Bamigboye]
The upcoming Fox show "Gotham" has found its Sal Maroni. David Zayas, aka Angel from "Dexter," will portray the mob boss, last played on the big screen by Eric Roberts in Christopher Nolan‘s "The Dark Knight." As you may recall, this show centers on the early police career of James Gordon (played by Ben McKenzie), and incorporates a cadre of DC Comics villains as well as a young Bruce Wayne. [Deadline]
