Got a Tip?

‘Carrie’ Gets Bloody, Electro Faces Down Spidey In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ & More Looks At Comic-Con Hopefuls

nullWe’re just over a week away from the San Diego Comic-Con, which will give grown men a free pass to wear Darth Vader costumes in broad daylight without fear of reprisal. And it also means studios are getting ready to open the floodgates on whatever material they have that might appeal to the thronging masses on the conference floor and EW is getting out in front with some stuff to show off.

The magazine has unveiled their array of covers for their Comic-Con edition with a few fresh look at some upcoming movies hoping to leap off the buzz in San Diego. First off, and perhaps the most important, is “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” with a fresh look at Spider-Man and Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, squaring off. Let’s just hope the final make up and effects make the villain look less….cheap? Either way, for those of you dulled by the repetitive story the first time around, Marc Webb promises the sequel will find him finally freed from re-establishing the universe.

“With the first one I felt it was important to retell that origin story. But that was kind of brutal because people were so familiar with it. Now that the origin story is done? We’re off to the races. It’s incredibly liberating,” he explained. Also in the pages of EW is this new image of Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan… playing Christopher Lloyd‘s character from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?“. WTF?

Other things to take a look at: Chloe Moretz covered in blood in a pic from “Carrie,” Brit show “Orphan Black” which we presume is being launched for American audiences and a snap of Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield in “Ender’s Game,” hoping to distract you from the raging homophobia of its creator, Orson Scott Card.

  1. Every time I see Jamie Foxx as Electro I laugh. Dude does not translate well at all in photos. It looks exceedingly silly. Maybe in motion it'll be actually cool.
