There have been a number of questions and rumors surrounding “Star Wars: Episode VII” ever since its original announcement, especially regarding the cast. After it was announced last month that Harrison Ford will most likely be returning to play Han Solo, the attention then turned to whether or not Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher would be returning as well. While we’ve already heard rumors that they might come back, Fisher herself has recently confirmed that she will indeed be coming back to the franchise.
In an interview with Palm Beach Illustrated, Fisher was asked if she would be reprising her role as Princess Leia in the upcoming “Star Wars” film and she responded with a simple “Yes” before jokingly suggesting that Leia would likely be “in an intergalactic old folks’ home” at this point. So until J.J. Abrams and Disney make it an official with a press release from a galaxy far, far away this is probably the closest and best we’ll get in terms of anything concrete. Of course, how big the roles are and even the story are locked up in a vault as impenetrable as the Death Star, though even that a had a pretty fatal design flaw, so maybe some sneaky person will get their hands on it.
Either way, it’s look like the ol’ gang will back for ‘Episode VII.’ And that’s about it. No official release date yet, but if indeed this movie is about the children of the original characters, who do you want playing the Young Han, Luke and Leia? [via io9]
I think I'd go with Charlie Hunnam for Han and Leia's son. He has a kind of dangerous, Heath Ledger vibe about him and would make for a cool rogue who has "some" Jedi instincts from his mom, but is more like his Dad and isn't interested in the Jedi life. Aaron Johnson could be good at that, too.
I don't think I want to see Luke with a child. He should be more like a monk, and his kids should be his Jedi students.
