French first-lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is now officially on board Woody’s Allen’s upcoming Paris-set film due to shoot later this summer.
Despite being linked to a role early in the film’s development, recent reports had pegged Bruni-Sarkozy’s involvement as “far from certain.” That, however, has seemingly been proven as precautionary with the actress-musician now joining Marion Cotillard, Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams in the cast. Brit Tom Hiddlestone has also been rumored for a role.
Up to this point, the mysterious, untitled project has only been revealed as a romantic drama but details including a title, release date and characters are reportedly set to be announced later this week.
The film will be the last of a three-picture deal for Allen with Spanish financiers, Mediapro, that has fruitfully brought about 2007’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” and the forthcoming “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger” which will premiere out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival next month.
