The buzz surrounding “Kick-Ass” got deafening over the weekend as the film unspooled at SXSW to raves from film geeks. Even the doubters here at the The Playlist had to tip our hats, particularly to director Matthew Vaughn who showed an incredibly knack for the energy and fun comic book films need (and often, sorely lack). But with the film still five weeks away from hitting theaters, fans still have a bit of a wait ahead of them.
Consolation comes in a small form thanks to the video by Mika for his soundtrack single “Kick-Ass” (duh). The song, as might be expected, is not very good but the video features a good chunk of footage from the film.
As we previously reported, the “Kick-Ass” soundtrack features Ennio Morricone, The Prodigy, Primal Scream and more and will hit UK shelves on March 29th via Polydor Records. No word on a US release date at this time. “Kick-Ass” hit theaters on April 16th.
Same here! Can't wait to see the music video plus the movie. Kick-Ass movie will surely hit us! 😀
