We didn’t realize this was up already.
We recorded a videoblog (vlog if you like) with FirstShowing’s Alex Billington who diligently recorded like 3-4 video posts at Cannes during his time at the festival (how he managed to find the the energy and time for vlogs, reviews, and regular news is beyond us).
We can’t even remember what’s covered in the conversation (Alex and I talked for 20 minutes before anything was taping too), but it’s probably a decent overview of things we may not have already talked about on the blog like Johnny To’s “Vengeance” which I liked and Alex hated. Oh, apparently we discussed Lars von Trier’s “Antichrist” too. Oh and Alex did not like Michel Gondry’s documentary, but we’re still curious. The audio isn’t great, be forewarned, as we were in the AmPav that Jeffrey Wells said was full of kids who “sound like they grew up in a mall, constantly babbling and laughing at each other’s jokes and going, ‘Oh, totally…yeah!’ ” Lol. You’ll probably hate us (me) for something we said, or find us (me) pretentious or what not, but really, how is that new at all? Evidently the video gets really dark too. We’re not going to really watch it cause we can’t stand hearing/seeing ourselves.
Dude on the left 1) is pretentious, 2) talks with his hands too much signifying he is clearly gay.
You guys were fine. However, I’ve rarely heard anything that can actually be so accurately described as “hooting and hollering” as much as the noise in the background, so maybe Wells was half-right.
Alex Billington- Michel Gondry’s movie was too French! This Johnny To movie needs to be more like “Taken”! Why do we humor this man with his narrow, aggressively oblivious point of view?
