Listen, we know it's reductive to diminish an actor to a role he played over twenty years ago (holy fuck, it's been that long? — we're feeling old…) but if we had said "Devin Ratray" your eyes would have glazed over, and you would have clicked on to something. But yes, Buzz McCallister himself from "Home Alone" will be up to no good in Alexander Payne's "Nebraska."
Described as the "villain" of the movie (though we think that might be not quite the right word for it), Ratray will play one half of a set of twin sons of Stacy Keach's character, an old colleague of lead boozy lead Bruce Dern. As you'll remember, he plays a man who makes the trip from Montana to Nebraska with his estranged son (Wll Forte) in order to claim a million dollar Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes prize. Bob Odenkirk is also on board as Forte's older brother. We'd suspect so. Either way…Buzz! Good to have you back (though he's been working pretty steadily and features in next summer's "R.I.P.D.")
Production on the black-and-white movie kicks off on October 15th and we'd guess a few more bits and bobs of casting will come in shortly. But until then, here's some classic Buzz to tide you over. [THR]
Buzz your girlfriend… Woof.
This is the best thing.
He's actually playing one of the twin sons of Keach's characters not Derns.
