Remember in September when we drafted up our list of favorite heist films? Well, if we ever do it again, don’t expect this one to place.
Bruce Willis and Paul Walker are in talks to join Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in the very boring sounding “Set Up.” Written and set to be directed by stunt guy Mike Gunther, the film “revolves around a group of friends who are catapulted into the middle of a diamond heist that turns deadly.” Geez, never seen that one before! The pic is a modestly budgeted affair that will likely come in around $20 million as the project is part of a 10-picture, $200 million deal between Cheetah Vision banner and Hedge Fund Film Partners.
This is one of those AFM projects that is up for sale so don’t be surprised if it doesn’t gain any momentum, and Willis and Walker walk way to move on to other things (okay, maybe not Walker, what does that guy have better to do?). No word on when this is aiming to get in front of cameras but we nearly fell asleep writing about this thing; let’s hope the heist has a twist where Fiddy ages backwards or can predict the future or something because we’re already bored.
Charlie\’s Talent Agency had 7 local Michigan actors cast in this film. Emmett/Furla Films and Cheetah Vision (50 Cent) are very well respected and superior people working under these companies. Our talent had an amazing time on set!
So your psychic reviewers have already seen this film and deemed it unworthy.?
