Got a Tip?

Brie Larson Joins Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Directorial Debut ‘Don Jon’s Addiction’

Brie LarsonWe placed Brie Larson on our list of actresses poised for the big time earlier this year, and with good reason. Larson has slowly been amassing an impressive CV, breaking out as Toni Colette's daughter in the Showtime series "United States of Tara," and making memorable turns in "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," Oren Moverman's powerful "Rampart," and this spring as the object of Jonah Hill's affection in "21 Jump Street." And she's been piling on one promising gig after another with roles in Peter Bogdanovich's "Squirrel To The Nuts," "Relanxious" with Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis, and "The Spectacular Now" with Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller, all coming up. And now she's adding another movie to the pile.

Variety reports that Larson has joined Joseph Gordon-Levitt's currently filming, feature-length directorial debut "Don Jon's Addiction." Larson joins the cast that includes Scarlett Johnansson, Julianne Moore and Tony Danza (yes, that Tony Danza), in a romantic comedy that follows a porn-addicted modern day Don Juan (JGL) who embarks on a journey to change himself after meeting a widowed woman (Moore). Larson will play the lothario's sister in the flick.

What more is there to say? We like Larson, we dig this cast, and the premise sounds very promising, so thumbs up all around. The movie is near the tail-end of production, and we presume we'll see it sometime next year. Sundance perhaps?
