Got a Tip?

‘Breaking Bad’ Star Aaron Paul Replaces Emile Hirsch In ‘A Long Way Down’

nullSometimes as a project moves along, casting is changed for a variety of reasons, and sometimes filmmakers have to settle on someone who maybe isn't as enticing as their choice. However, for the upcoming adaptation of Nick Hornby's "A Long Way Down," that isn't the case.

"Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul is replacing the previously cast Emile Hirsch in the film set to be directed Pascal Chaumeil (the arthouse rom-com hit "Heartbreaker"). Paul joins Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collette and Imogen Poots, in the story centers on a quartet of people who meet by chance on New Year's Day in the same location, where they had each planned to commit suicide. Collette will play a mother of a disabled son; Brosnan is a talkshow host whose life has been ruined by a scandalous affair; Poots is Jess, a lonely 18 year-old with family problems while Paul portrays as J.J., a pizza delivery man who gave up his dreams of being a rock star to be with a girl only for the band to break up and his girlfriend to dump him.

Production on the film starts in September in London, we dig the cast, and the Hornby big screen track record is pretty good, so consider us optimistic for this. [Deadline]
