Well, we got the trailer for "On the Road" about a month ago, and since then a handful of character posters for Viggo Mortensen, Tom Sturridge, Amy Adams, Alice Braga and Elisabeth Moss, so how about a few more looks at the actual movie?
The official website (via HeyUGuys) for the film has unveiled a handful of new images both from the film and behind the scenes, giving us another opportunity to peek at the extended ensemble cast. We get our first look at Kirsten Dunst, who plays Camille (aka Carolyn Cassady), the wife of Neal Cassady and friend to Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. We also get snaps of Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley as Marylou, Dean Moriarty and Sal Paradise. It's all pretty lovely stuff, and mostly, we just hope a bunch of Twihards start reading Proust because Stewart is holding "Swann's Way."
We don't need to remind you, this is tipped for Cannes and has a U.K. release date of September 21st. No U.S. date yet. Check 'em out below.
Kristen has said from day one that her role in On the Road is a small role. On the other hand, I think that although the book itself is about the two main male characters (Sal and Dean), the movie by Walter Salles could be putting a bit more emphasis and development on female characters. I am impressed by the entire cast and most of them are sort of similar to the book's characters – a bit of beat, hippie, off the beaten path, poets, loners, musicians, rebels and not the typical Hollywood stars even if some like Kristen and Garret became well known and popular after they were cast in On the Road.
peoples need to remember that it's not kristen the problem but the media and stupid girls who won't leave her alone.
and aslo if you love kerouack that much then you would know that the beat generation is not pretencious and dosn't care that much about the reputation…
Hi my fav. film of this year!
Where does it say "lead" and Kristen Stewart above?
Are you sure that Kristen Stewart is not the lead, look at the principal names on the official poster
Haha peple calling out Playlist are so right. You always call On The Road 'Kristen Stewart's movie'. I know you're desperate for hits but it's getting ridiculous by now. Respect Walter Salles and the real leads of the movie, Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund. Kerouac must be rolling on his grave now, poor dude.
Garrett Hedlund looks like no one else could have been Dean Moriaty but himself in this film. Amazing casting and impressive stills!
Marylou is just a supporting character in the film, so begging hits from those teen fangirls making them thnik she's the lead is pretty sad. Playlist, you can do better than that.
Oops, I meant literary savviness. See, I just showed you the importance of rereading ones post and how easy it is to fix it! Now you try it!
If you want ignorant twihards to read Proust why don't you stop calling On The Road a Kristen Stewart's movie? That's ignorant and pathetic. Just because you want hits from those teeny boopers you don't have to go that low. Get a grip morons.
