Also, For Some Reason, Tom Arnold
While Bradley Cooper has used his post-“Limitless” and “The Hangover Part II” career to take a step upward with parts in Derek Cianfrance‘s “The Place Beyond The Pines,” David O. Russell‘s “The Silver Linings Playbook,” Alex Proyas‘ “Paradise Lost” and possibly even Warner Bros.‘ “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,” he’s not above doing favors for friends. Even if it means starring in a movie directed by Dax Shepard.
With the American Film Market heating up, Exclusive Media Group are going to be shopping “Outrun,” written, starring and set to be co-directed by Shepard (along with David Palmer) with his gal Kristen Bell, Tom Arnold (!?) and Cooper also to feature. The premise is pretty straightforward following an ex-getaway driver (Shepard), who is in the Witness Protection Program, but flaunts the rules in order to drive his girlfriend (Bell) to L.A. so that she can get her dream job. But it isn’t long before the fuzz and his old gang led by Cooper are on his tail.
Anyway, sounds like a low budget venture not unlike the pretty godawful “Brothers Justice.” But if Shepard could wrangle Jon Favreau to pop his head into that one, we suppose anything is possible. Rights will be up for grabs at AFM next week for the film which has already been shot. Everyone involved could be doing something better with the exception of Arnold, for whom this is a step up from this last movie, “Hard Breakers.” [Deadline]
Yeah seems Bradley Cooper is kinda old pal of Dax Shapard, whose self-made mockumantery already played by him, also with Tom Arnold as well. Could he make some new friends
OK. But when you finally do get to see it and realize it\’s pretty great, will you run a post acknowledging that you shat all over it for no reason other than to sound cool? That would be a decent Montrealer thing to do.
also, for EVERY reason, Tom Arnold.
*ratio
wow, that\’s a pretty high snark-to-information ration. Clearly you have not read the script, which is great. And by the way, the movie has already been shot — you should read all the way to the end of the post on Nikki Finke before writing your take-down. A lot of people are going to be surprised by this movie.
Right you are. This has been shot. Will still probably be awful.
Pretty sure Kristin Bell\’s shitty career could use any boost. When In Rome and that bridesmaid movie (You Again?) aren\’t exactly resume strengtheners.
Omg, why did u post that trailer? MY EYES!
\”Friends star in friends of friends\’ films.\” Dax Shepard is movie poison.
